The Collection

The primary collection held by the museum comes from Dr. Cooper. Dr. Cooper was a doctor in Angels Camp and he was the only doctor in the late 1800’s that would treat our Native population here. Often the Native people would pay Dr. Cooper for his services in baskets which is why we have the collection we have today and why the museum has a direct tie to healthcare in our counties.
